Privacy policy.

This page explains what information this website collects, why, and what you can do about it. The short version is that this is an information site about our artists and events, it has no sign-up forms and no accounts, and it does not ask you for personal information.

Who is responsible

Xigaza xa ma2k Entertainment (Pty) Ltd, trading as XX2K Entertainment (registration number 2025/250370/07), is the responsible party for any personal information described on this page, under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

This site was built and is hosted for us by Vuxaka Digital Solutions, who act only as an operator carrying out our instructions. They do not decide what is collected or why. Questions about your information should come to us directly, using the details at the bottom of this page.

What we collect

There are no forms on this site, so nothing is collected from you by filling anything in.

• If you contact us: when you email or phone us using the details on this site, we receive whatever you choose to send, which normally means your name, your email address or phone number, and the content of your message.
• Automatically, in hosting records: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs of requests to the site, which include your IP address, the pages requested, the date and time, and your browser and device type. These are a normal part of running a website securely.
• When fonts load: this site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your IP address is sent to Google in order to deliver them.
• Visitor statistics: we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. It records the pages you view, roughly where in the world you are, the type of device and browser you use, how you arrived at the site, and how long you stay. Google Analytics does not store your full IP address, and none of this tells us who you are by name.

We do not run advertising trackers, we do not sell data to advertisers, and we do not build profiles of individual visitors. The statistics we look at are counts and patterns across everyone, not a record of any one person.

Why we collect it

• To reply to you when you get in touch about a booking or an enquiry.
• To keep the site running, available and secure.
• To understand which parts of the site are useful, so we know what to improve.

Cookies and browser storage

This site does not set advertising cookies and does not follow you around other websites. Two things are stored in your browser:

• xx2k-theme, in local storage, which remembers whether you chose light or dark mode. It stays on your device and is never sent to us or to anyone else.
• Google Analytics cookies, which let it tell a returning visit from a new one so the counts are not wildly wrong. They expire on their own.

Clearing your browser data removes both. If you would rather not be counted at all, you can install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on, or switch on "Do Not Track" in your browser settings, which this site checks and obeys before analytics loads.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with third parties for marketing. Information reaches other companies only in these ways:

• Google, as our hosting, font and analytics provider, processes request logs, font requests and visitor statistics as our infrastructure provider, under its own terms. Its handling of Analytics data is covered by Google's privacy policy.
• Sites we link to, including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Instagram and Computicket, are independent of us. Once you follow a link, that company's own privacy policy applies and we have no control over what it collects.

Tickets and payments

Sending information outside South Africa

Our hosting and font providers operate globally, so the technical records described above may be processed on servers outside South Africa. POPIA permits this where the receiving party is subject to comparable data protection standards, which is the case for the providers we use.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry emails for as long as we reasonably need them to deal with your enquiry and for our own records afterwards. Hosting logs are kept for a short period on a rolling basis by our hosting provider. You can ask us to delete correspondence you have sent us at any time.

Your rights

Under POPIA you have the right to:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you
• Ask us to correct it if it is wrong or incomplete
• Ask us to delete it
• Object to how we use it
• Complain to the Information Regulator

To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can take it up with the Information Regulator:

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect information that reaches us, and the site is served over an encrypted connection. No online system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

This site is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date near the top shows when it last changed, and the current version always lives at this address.
